Bio

Despite the poor sales of "Flow/Beat", Paul continued to work in his first solo album, entitled "Tribute". This touching record was Paul's tribute to Sherveen, his fellow Spooner who he had so much chart success with.

In December 2001, Paul released "Iridescent Earrings", the first song from his album. The public, obviously still hungry for more Spooning, caused the single to enter the charts at Number 1 and stay there for 5 weeks, gaining Paul his 3rd consecutive UK Christmas #1. The song was not released as a single in the US due to poor predicted sales.

In 2002, Paul Harrison started right back where he had left The Spoons; causing huge controversy amid massive chart success. "We Are" was released in March 2002 and managed Number 4 in the UK charts before the record company was forced to pull it from the shelves. The Who had threatened legal action over the 'libelous' lyrics, which claimed that their songs were 'poo' and that they themselves had been 'on crack'.

However, once again no publicity is ever bad; with such international news coverage the record company was once again giving Paul the chance to crack the US, now as a solo artist. In June 2002 Paul released his 3rd solo single "Pop!" This catchy, well, Pop song, shot straight in at Number 1 in both the US and UK charts. In the UK, "Pop" remained atop the charts for 8 weeks, but for a staggering 12 weeks in the US. This meant that "Pop" had averaged 10 weeks on top of the trans-atlantic charts, equalling the Spoons most successful single, "Spoons, Spoons, Spoons."

December 2002 was the time of Paul's next big hit, "Cards."
